Taking Comfort (Macmillan New Writing) published in 2006 is a contemporary literary thriller, A Gentle Axe (Faber and Faber), is a historical crime novel featuring the detective Porfiry Petrovich from Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment. It was published in February 2007. Roger lives and writes in North London. He is married to Rachel and has two kids, Claire and Luke.
