Soho
Square
She's on her way to work, yet walks in work's opposite direction for
the extra half hour of daylight this route gives her. The tube at Tottenham
Hale swallows her whole. She emerges in Oxford Street's stale air twenty minutes
later and walks through the back streets to Soho Square. The walking boots aren't
necessary; indeed ludicrous in the West End, but they give her bounce. Her back
pack frees her arms to swing and loosen a body stiffened with the last three
months of sitting in front of screens
