. Another wind gust pushed him out of his lane, and he jerked back at
the sound of a blaring horn. Sometimes, when sober, he would stare at huge trucks
as he sped past them and marvel at the ease with which he could just slightly
turn his steering wheel and create a fireball around twisted metal and body
parts. Not that he would ever do that. But he often thought about it

Jeff has been a towboat deckhand, technical writer, teacher, theatre consultant,
credit manager, hotel security officer, and waiter. The glamorous jobs are not
listed. He rafted the Mississippi, searched for artifacts in Mexico, climbed
mountains from Alaska to Colombia and published articles for climbing and adventure
magazines. He wrote and performed a short story for radio, won several short
fiction awards, published stories and poems, and has a novel scheduled for publication.
